LOVE IS THE ANSWER
LOVE IS THE ANSWER to all our problems. It is truly the solution to everyday challenges. To healing, to relationships, to creating the life we really deserve. For love is the way and the path. Love is the essence of who we are. Love is why we came here. It is what we came to master; to experience and express. Love is what we wish to know.
Love has many faces. It is not only the sweet love that intimacy shows us. It is also the nurturing love of a parent for a child; the unconditional love a child knows well for a parent; the love of a dear friend; the love of a beloved pet; the accepting love of a coworker; the love of a neighbor; the love for our world and all those who reside upon her. In essence it is the love we accept for ourselves, that we then project into the world.
At the end of every life one principal question arises: ' How much love did I experience? Did I express love? Did I feel love? Did I know love? Did I share love?' And the answer is too often, ' I did not. I buried love. I feared love. I hid from love.' And upon this realization a sorrow arises. An understanding that we became lost from love. Loves missed opportunities, misunderstanding and misperceptions. And a feeling comes over us; ' if only I could do it over gain.' And of course we will. As many times as necessary for us to master the lessons of love.
So the choice is either to suppress love or express love. To be in the moment and realize that love is the way. When we look at the core of the human experience, we realize there is one thing we all have in common. We all desire to be loved. We all wish to know and experience love. Behind all the ills, hurts and suffering of the world sits a desire to know love.
And so the question begs to be answered: ' Why is AUTHENTIC LOVE so scarce in our world?' And the answer arises from within: ‘ It is because we have been hurt by love. We have lost our faith and trust in love.’ And under those wounds we buried love. We placed attachments and conditions upon loves expression. And yet those attachments are not who we are. They are not the truth. They are of the past now. They are invariably caused by misperception and misunderstanding. Illusions stamped upon the soul by life's conditioning. And we bring them forward into the present only if we choose.
What we focus on tends to manifest in our lives. When we focus on the many expressions of love, our world begins to change. We realize love is an immense power. It is not some intangible. It can be felt in the body and mind. It can uplift those around us. It can change someone's life. It is behind our creativity and brilliance. As many of our great spiritual teachers have shown us, love can really change the world.
TRUE LOVE is a detached love. It is unconditional. It has no strings. There is nothing in it for ourselves. Love just is. Loves joy is to give and receive freely of it's bounty. Love is everlasting. It transcends time. It is truly what binds us.
In everyday life the most helpful question to ask ourselves is, ' What would love do?' And when we follow the answer true, our life is uplifted and expanded. Our relationships improve. Our problems begin to become resolved. Our challenges simply wash away. Love makes life so much sweeter. Love really is the answer that transcends all. Copyright Richard C. Slade 09.11.07
